New Release Round-Up 18th June 2021

After a lockdown solo live album last year, Nick Cave returns to the studio with partner in crime Warren Ellis for a co-credited album 'Carnage' which vacillates between threatening absurdism and an intense spirituality, often within the space of the same track, with Ellis providing everything from sensitive strings to jet engine roar synths. Available on CD and LP (with exclusive stickers while stocks last).

Nearly 50 years on from her debut Joan Armatrading is still probing the boundaries of her sound with brand new studio album 'Consequences' (CD and LP). There's a first album in twelve years from Nordic acoustic duo Kings of Convenience- the smooth sailin' 'Peace or Love' features guest vocals from Feist and is available on CD and LP.

We've got a couple of Dinked Edition LPs to celebrate: Francis Lung's 'Miracle' sees the former WU LYF man in eccentric 70s power-pop mode on mint green vinyl in a mirrorboard sleeve, while 'Devastations' is the latest from the acclaimed producer/composer/one half of F*** Buttons, Andrew Hung on transparent yellow vinyl with interchangeable artwork. Move fast if you're after either of these.
