Lucia & The Best Boys - Picking Petals
Released 31st July 2026
For nearly two decades, Lucia has been carving out her place as an artist in the UK indie scene. Her latest record, Picking Petals, is the culmination of that hard graft and bold vision — an album rooted in her Scottish upbringing and shaped by the creative community she has built around her in Glasgow and beyond, featuring collaborations with Lauren Mayberry of CHVRCHES and Abigail Morris of The Last Dinner Party.
Lucia’s debut, Burning Castles, was streamlined and statuesque, built on metronomic beats and synth-led pop. The intention behind Picking Petals sharpened into focus in the face of this. This time, it was crucial to capture the essence of Lucia & The Best Boys’ live shows— loud and electric. In recent years, Fairfull has shared bills with a new wave of women in alternative music: joining Wolf Alice on their Blue Weekend tour in 2022 and, more recently, opening for the aforementioned The Last Dinner Party. In summer 2024, she toured alongside fellow Scottish icon Shirley Manson on the UK and European leg of Garbage’s live shows.
The Scottish synchronicity feels poignant. This rich and historical landscape is where Picking Petals came to be, Lucia heading north to write in weather-beaten bothies alongside the band or in solitude. Likewise, the songwriter was insistent that acclaimed alt-pop producer Yves Rothman experience her stomping ground rather than sun-drenched LA, hunkering down in Mogwai’s Castle of Doom studios, a Glasgow townhouse transformed into a citadel of sound. For some people, Picking Petals will be a coming-of-age album. For Lucia & The Best Boys, it’s just coming home.

Released 23rd October 2026 Fudge is Michael Kiwanuka’s most free and instinctive album to date. A vibrant, deeply human record shaped by spontaneity, emotion, and creative joy. It’s loose, soulful, and alive with the kind of magic that only happens when the process leads the way. The album was inspired by the encouraging words of the late Chick Corea, whose interview Michael stumbled upon during the pandemic lockdown, urging him to embrace what he loved without worrying about what others migh...

Released 23rd October 2026 Some albums simply get better with time. Others wait patiently for the world to catch up. As it celebrates its 25th anniversary, The Joy of Sing-Sing feels less like an overlooked curiosity and more like one of the great lost British albums of its era. When Lush came to an abrupt end in 1996 following the tragic death of drummer Chris Acland, guitarist and songwriter Emma Anderson wasn't looking to recreate the past. She was searching for an entirely new musical part...

Released 23rd October 2026 Clara Mann’s luminous new album, Wishbone, is built on contrast; the brightest passages made legible by shadow, as Mann strove to picture a beautiful life and then to allow herself to want it, with absolute vulnerability. Leaning deliberately into the songwriting tradition, Mann reached for the rough-edged, performance-driven spirit of artists like Fiona Apple and Tom Waits; while keeping faith with an older lineage of plainspoken English balladry. With the folk sin...

Released 16th October 2026 Fontaines D.C. announce their fifth studio album, Dopamine Chamber, released on 16th October via XL Recordings. Produced by James Ford, it is the follow-up to 2024’s UK platinum-certified Romance – and the sound of a band moving decisively away from the guitar language of their early records into something colder, stranger and more synthetic. It arrives today alongside lead single “Marianne” and its accompanying video, directed by Dave Meyers. Dopamine Chamber arriv...
