New Release Round-up 29th April 2022
Indie-folk duo MEMORIAL recall the exquisite mellow acoustics of Simon & Garfunkel and early Turin Brakes. Their self-titled debut is produced by Lucy Rose and issued on her Real Kind Records imprint of Communion. They're with us in the shop itself tomorrow evening (Saturday 30th) for an acoustic instore and entry is FREE.
Having broken through as teenage psych prodigies, LET'S EAT GRANDMA's third album 'Two Ribbons' balances dancefloor monsters and woozy ballads with a mature ease, bandmates Rosa and Jenny eking out their own spaces and unpacking a difficult few years with mesmeric flair. Produced with the help of audiobooks' David Wrench.
Also exploring ribbons are Stockport indie stars BLOSSOMS, whose fourth long player 'Ribbon Around the Bomb' was inspired by a visit to Frida Kahlo's house in Mexico and incorporates 70s pop influences. We've got some limited edition Blossoms tote bags and temporary tattoos to give away with purchases of the album, while stocks last.
There are three sold out Dinked Editions either winging their way out to you as we speak, or available to collect from the shop. Standard versions are available to order: The eponymous debut of Speedy Wundergroud-signed trio HONEYGLAZE, Canadian-Serbian singer-songwriter DANA GAVANSKI's arresting 'When It Comes' and shoegazey Australian artist HATCHIE's sophomore album 'Giving the World Away'.
Aussie balearic jazz outfit MILDLIFE issue a live album recorded in an abandoned 19th century fort. At the heavier end of the spectrum, there are albums from THUNDER and RAMMSTEIN, plus new releases from BLOC PARTY, JON SPENCER, MELODY'S ECHO CHAMBER, WILLIE NELSON and ROYKSOPP.
NORAH JONES' classic debut 'Come Away With Me' celebrates its 20th anniversary with deluxe editions.
'A Saucerful of Secrets' is the next Pink Floyd album to get a mono vinyl reissue.
Tonight at 8pm the remaining RSD stock goes live on the website. Head over to this page to find leftover goodies from David Bowie, U2, The Rolling Stones and more...
