This is a Record Store Day 2021 release.
The Blind Boys and Bela want to celebrate black history and black artistry by coming together to cover “I Wish I Knew How It Felt to Be Free”, a song that served as an anthem for civil rights in the 1960s and was made famous by Nina Simone. This would be the first RSD release for The Blind Boys of Alabama, one of the most celebrated groups in gospel history, who have five GRAMMYs, a National Heritage Fellowship, a GRAMMY Lifetime Achievement Award and have been inducted into the Gospel Hall of Fame. They’ve performed in the White House for Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama. Bela Fleck has won 14 GRAMMY Awards and is a member of the International Bluegrass Hall of Fame.
Limited edition of 1000, colored vinyl if manufacturing allows
