New Release Round-Up 7th January 2022

Out Today

A very happy first New Release Round-up of 2022 to you all!

We've got a couple of tempting DAVID BOWIE pieces ahead of what would have been the legendary artist's 75th birthday tomorrow. There's a 50th anniversary picture disc of his classic 'Hunky Dory' and a first ever official release of shelved 2000s album 'Toy', released here as 'Toy:Box' with stacks of extras on triple-CD and 6x10" vinyl sets.

There's the long-awaited vinyl pressing of the latest album from Manchester synth maestros MARCONI UNION. 'Signals' saw them add propulsive percussion to their ambient and minimalist electronica to rapturous reception in the electronic music press. There's a beautiful marbled silver Dinked Edition for this one which comes with an exclusive bonus CD of reworks.

'Rose Pink Cadillac' (CD and double-picture disc) is the latest from Angus Stone's DOPE LEMON project and sees him build on the sun-kissed, hedonistic grooves of the previous DL albums while spinning out into darker dancefloor territory (something his sister Julia also explored last year).

Pre-orders

Some big 2022 albums announced this week, including the return of FATHER JOHN MISTY. 'Chloë And The Next 20th Century' sees him re-team with producer/mult-instrumentalist Jonathan Wilson.

'At The Hotspot', the forthcoming album from London party animals WARMDUSCHER, is produced by Hot Chip duo Joe Goddard (HARD FEELINGS) and Al Doyle (LCD Soundsystem).

'Dawn FM' was a surprise drop from THE WEEKND with the CD due out at the end of the month.

And WIDOWSPEAK follow the critically acclaimed 'Plum' (an SK Album of the Year in 2020, no less) with 'The Jacket'.
