New Release Round-Up 5th November 2021

Out Today

As you very likely know by now, 'Voyage' is the first new ABBA album in four decades, featuring the mega new singles 'I Still Have Faith In You' and 'Don't Shut Me Down'. It's available on a plethora of formats including a limited edition digipak CD, deluxe CD ecobox featuring art cards and a blue vinyl.

'Valentine' is the sophomore full-length from Lindsey Jordan's indie vehicle SNAIL MAIL. Debut album 'Lush', released when Jordan was still a teenager, put her firmly in the company of great young songwriters like Phoebe Bridgers, Lucy Dacus and Soccer Mommy. The follow-up pushes her musical boundaries taking in an impressive breadth of styles, all held together by Jordan's weighty lyrics and emotive vocals. It's available on CD and indies gold vinyl, and we've got some badges to give away with purchases. The Dinked Editions are running slightly late but we're expecting them to arrive tomorrow. Online orders should land with you midweek.

Also on the Dinked front, if you move quickly you might be able to grab our last copy of GNOD's latest 'La Mort Du Sens' but will otherwise have to content yourselves with standard formats.

Not quite as long an absence as the aforementioned Swedish pop titans but 'Thank You' marks the first new recordings from DIANA ROSS in more than 20 years and sees the Queen of Motown team up with ubiquitous pop producer/Bleachers man Jack Antonoff, 'The Future' is the latest from NATHANIEL RATELIFF & THE NIGHT SWEATS, Six Organs of Admittance's BEN CHASNY offers an entry into the esteemed KPM music library 'The Intimate Landscape' and JOAN AS POLICE WOMAN teams with The Invisible's Dave Okumu and the late, great Tony Allen on the vibrant 'The Solution Is Restless', plus there's a self-titled album from Welsh metalcore veterans BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE with two different limited edition vinyl variants, new albums from JAMES ARTHUREMMA RUTH RUNDLE and ROSS FROM FRIENDS and a Christmas record from HISS GOLDEN MESSENGER.

Reissues

RADIOHEAD's 'Kid A Mnesia' collects albums 'Kid A' and 'Amnesiac' alongside a bonus disc of material culled from those sessions, including the previously unreleased "If You Say The Word" and a long-rumoured studio recording of "Follow Me Around". An essential overview of one of their most interesting creative periods, it's available on triple-CD and triple-LP sets.

BILLY JOEL celebrates half-a-century since the release of his debut 'Cold Spring Harbour' with an 8-album (9LP) box set that collects his studio output up until '52nd Street' along with 'Songs in the Attic' and 'Live at The Great American Music Hall', a previously unreleased live album exclusive to the box set. Drop us a message if you're interested in one of these.

Hard to believe it's been 10 years since THE BLACK KEYS released their hit album 'El Camino' but that milestone is indeed being celebrated with 3LP and 5LP reissues.

'Still Rising' is a career-spanning retrospective from vocalist GREGORY PORTER on double-CD with vinyl to come later in the month, plus there's an audiophile pressing of CHARLES MINGUS's 'MINGUS MINGUS MINGUS MINGUS MINGUS' and Late Night Tales curate an essential film soundtrack compilation as they present 'At The Movies'.

Pre-orders

December sees a NILS FRAHM double album 'Old Friends New Friends' collecting unreleased solo piano music from the past twelve years.

And next year's starting to take shape with albums from Americana big-hitters THE DELINES and HURRAY FOR THE RIFF RAFF, brand new albums from SPIRITUALIZED and PORCUPINE TREE, and a greatest hits set from FRANZ FERDINAND.
